Cloud Chasers guide to RELX devices (budget)
RELX devices advice for Trinidad, covering DIY liquids, what to look for and where the trade-offs actually sit.
There is no single best relx devices for everyone in Trinidad, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. In Trinidad, availability of the 1.4 Ω mesh coil is the practical bottleneck, not the device itself.
Budget matters in Trinidad, but with relx devices the cheapest option is rarely the one that lasts. In Trinidad, availability of the 1.4 Ω mesh coil is the practical bottleneck, not the device itself.
What surprised us most was how little the 1.4 Ω mesh coil changes the draw character compared with the 20:80 PG/VG liquid sitting in the chamber. The Lilac Mist finish hides fingerprints far better than the gloss options, which matters more than it sounds on a device handled daily. Worth noting that the magnetic contact takes a small amount of care to keep clean, which we cover in the maintenance section below.
The throat hit is noticeably firmer than a 20:80 PG/VG blend, so if you prefer a smoother draw, mix accordingly. Pricing in Trinidad shifts with import duty, so the figures here reflect current TTD rates rather than a fixed list price. Airflow control on the Asvape Minikit is adjustable enough to move from a warm, restrained draw to something far more open without removing the tank.
Delivery across Trinidad is typically two to four working days with tracked dispatch, and returns are straightforward within the standard window. The build quality on Asvape Minikit is a step above most of what sits in the same price bracket, and the finish resists the chipping that usually shows after a few months of pocket carry. Build quality is the quiet differentiator here, with tight seams and a connector that has not loosened after repeated removal.
For cloud chasers, the learning curve is shorter than the specification list suggests, and daily use is straightforward from the first charge. If you take one thing from this page, make it the coil compatibility check. A device that needs a coil you cannot source locally becomes an expensive ornament within a month. The throat hit is noticeably firmer than a 20:80 PG/VG blend, so if you prefer a smoother draw, mix accordingly.
Replacement coils are widely available, and the 1.4 Ω mesh coil is the sensible default to keep in stock. The included spare coils are useful for the first fortnight, after which you will be ordering your own. What surprised us most was how little the 1.4 Ω mesh coil changes the draw character compared with the 20:80 PG/VG liquid sitting in the chamber.

Flavour and performance notes
A representative profile is Grape Frost Breeze: sweet, fruity, described as dark grape with a cool, brisk finish. On a 20:80 PG/VG ratio this reads clearly on the first day and holds its character to roughly the 1.4 Ω mesh mark before the coil begins to mute it.
Practical considerations in Trinidad
Availability in Trinidad is the factor that decides most outcomes here. Confirm the 1.4 Ω mesh and the Type-C fast charge are both in stock before committing, and check that the magnetic contact matches your existing device if you already own hardware. Duty and TTD rates move, so treat prices as current rather than fixed.
Our advice is to order one, use it for a fortnight, and only then decide whether to stock up.
